Only recently did I realize I might have some time left on the contract with my phone company. And, as phone company luck has it, I still had over a year's commitment time left on my contract.
My options for getting out of a contract with Telus:
- Vacation Mode: $8.50 per month + upon return the contract time left remains.
- Cancellation fee: Calculated according to how much time is left on your contract - in my case, $280 + tax.
- Swap: Find someone to buy your phone and take over your contract + $25 fee.
In my case, I'm not in a position to fork out large sums of cash and I'm not sure when I might be returning... So I'll have to find someone to take over my contract for me, which can sometimes be a pain so it's a good idea to
